Rattler’s a band out of D.C. that condones everything that has to do with Sex, Drugs and Mock and Roll. This Saturday they’re taking all the epicness they’ve been practicing and compiling it into a giant jagerbomb of a shit show. Make sure to swing thru and check it out.

An amazing video from Fever Ray, thanks Stephanie.

I’ve just discovered the musically inclined David Byrne keeps an online journal filled with mildly frenetic and properly explained rants about what goes through his head. Random. Informative. Humorous. He covers things from the fall of print/newspapers to analogies like the interet/bandwidth and showers/faucets. He also releases a themed radio playlist every month, which is unpretentious and inspiring. Dive in HERE.

With too much soul, poured into a mold of gold, his legacy turned into albums sold. A lyrical ferver that rings though generations, he made sure to use his most gentle guns. Now decades later we continue to hear, what in many cases sheds the tears. Tears of joy or tears so true, well the point is Happy Birthday to you.

The Wilderness Downtown is an interactive film by Chris Milk featuring an Arcade Fire song “We Used to Wait.” You enter your address and it turns your hood into the setting of the music video via Google street view. Pretty dope use of web interactivity, but prepare for your computer to struggle a bit, intense on the RAM. Enjoy!

Straight from Barcelona comes El Guincho who claims the sound of “…an upbeat, nostalgic pop jam for the beach, summer drives with friends and twilight BBQ’s”
His latest album, Pop Negro is a quantum leap into something beyond “alternative” or “mainstream”: sounding as lush and plush as anything by the biggest megastars of the 80’s and 90’s, with gleaming surfaces and vast echoing spaces that fould fill Stadia or take you on a voyage through inner space. Pop Negro is now available on LP, CD and Download from Young Turks on Sept. 13th.

…are a are a metal band from Dorset, England that formed back in the hey day of grunge. I was first introduced to these delightfull jams over at Maracuja after Jocelyn’s timely dj takeover of the jukebox. I’ve been hooked ever since. Though it feels like they’re monotonous jams go on for a touch too long sometimes, It’s still pretty quality cannabis driven metal and makes for a perfet wizards and bonghits occasion.
Electric Wizard - Devil’s bride

This might be my favorite track of the new Arcade Fire album, Suburbs, and quite possibly, a strong contender for song of the year. The second half of the “Sprawl” songs (Sprawl I-Flatland and Sprawl II -Mountains Beyond Mountains). The track has a build similar to The Knife’s Heartbeats and I’m sure we’ll be expecting few heavy hitting remixes of this song soon. It’s a touch more electric than the Arcade Fire’s earlier stuff, but they incorporate it so well. See for yourself. All photos via.
