8/31/2010 - Keds x Opening Ceremony x Richard Saja

In collaboration with Keds & Opening Ceremony, Richard Saja has created a new limited shoe specially for Fashions Night Out. The Camp Oxford as it’s called takes a mix of new and old perfect for the historically sound fashion fiend.

“Richard has been remixing and recontextualizing quintessentially French toile prints since 2001 when he first designed a set of toile-printed pillows embellished with clever, playful twists on monochromatic pastoral scenes.  Anyone familiar with “Toile de Jouy” — a print that originated in 1700s France — would most likely associate it with the sweet, girly Marie Antoinette-style decor of grandma’s dining room, but Richard’s reinterpretations subvert the expected daintiness by inserting figures reminiscent of the artist’s childhood doodles: superheroes, monsters, clowns, and mutants.”

8/26/2010 - David Downton

Hands down one of my all time favs. This dude can paint an image of a glamorous model in like 5 brush strokes. In his early days, Downton worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from advertising and packaging to illustrating fiction, cook books and, occasionally, fashion. In 1996, the Financial Times commissioned him to draw at the couture shows and since then David has become known for his fantastic fashion illustrations. Check out more at his site.

8/23/2010 - Nom De Guerre F/W 2010

This season Nom De Guerre has reverted to their darker military inspirations keeping with a bleak color pallette and a functional minimalist silhouette. But hey just cuz you gotta bust some heads doesn’t mean you can’t look good. A mix of formal wear and army gear make this season’s collection a classy route to fighting the coming climate.
