In collaboration with Keds & Opening Ceremony, Richard Saja has created a new limited shoe specially for Fashions Night Out. The Camp Oxford as it’s called takes a mix of new and old perfect for the historically sound fashion fiend.
“Richard has been remixing and recontextualizing quintessentially French toile prints since 2001 when he first designed a set of toile-printed pillows embellished with clever, playful twists on monochromatic pastoral scenes. Anyone familiar with “Toile de Jouy” — a print that originated in 1700s France — would most likely associate it with the sweet, girly Marie Antoinette-style decor of grandma’s dining room, but Richard’s reinterpretations subvert the expected daintiness by inserting figures reminiscent of the artist’s childhood doodles: superheroes, monsters, clowns, and mutants.”

Hack Job is a project that our friends over at Boom just started with Converse Skateboarding to create skateboards out of anything that you can get your hands on. This project is open to anyone in any country: skateboarders, non-skateboarders, art students, strippers, cheerleaders, world leaders, gas station attendants, hobbits, and gnomes.
Here’s what you gotta do: 1. Locate some building materials. Keep in mind your skateboard can be functional or totally non-functional. This means you could use wood, but you could also use pancakes, or human hair! 2. Build a skateboard out of your materials. 3. Snap a photo of your amazing creation. If it is ride-able, shoot a video of yourself riding it! (Jump to the :30 mark of this amazing video to see an electric guitar turned into a skateboard!!!) 4. E-mail your photo and/or a youtube link to: submit@booooooom.comwith “Hack Job” in the subject line. 5. High-five yourself. There will be an online gallery, and as a little bonus, my friends atConverse will give away shoes to the 5 most creative submissions! Deadline for submissions: September 10th 2010.

This collab just had to be done. Dos Equis and Kaws’ iconic X’s, cmon son. I had the pleasure of meeting Brian the other day, and must say I don’t mind “supporting” the recent collaboration. In succession with the release, Jake put created the film inspired by the brand/artist. Enjoy resposibly!

Issak McKay-Randozzi from Juxtapoz Magazine had the chance to stop by the quaint little studio of Geoff McFedtridge to do some snooping around.

My buddy Ryan just came into the the office with a small stack of records and one of them stood out to me, the Jam. Partly because I was familiar with what era of punk awesomeness was being emulated with the simple cover design, and partly because I was UNfamiliar to what he was about to go home and listen to on his turntable. The Jam was an English punk rock/mod revival band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. While they shared the “angry young men” outlook and fast tempos of their punk rock contemporaries, The Jam wore neatly tailored suits rather than ripped clothes, and they incorporated a number of mainstream 1960s rock influences rather than rejecting them, placing The Jam at the forefront of the mod revival movement.

Man, alcohol accessories, really? Hennessy just launched a limited edition silicon flask sleeve that can be found in an array of colors. Perfect to match your Air Max 95’s son!

I just want to say, job well done. I am so stoked on Miller High Life’s new branding and design. I’ve always known and believed that it was the champagne of beers, now it truly looks like it.

NYC shredder and artist, Dennis McNett, just did a gnarly installation for Barneys NYC. If you’re near Madison Ave. between 60th & 61st, make sure to check it out. You can check out Dennis’ website here.
