The Brooklyn Free Store

The Brooklyn Free Store is just what it sounds like, a project started to share the wealth. “Take what you want. Share what you think others may enjoy (not limited to material items).” read a sign at the Bedford-Stuyvesant area where the store is located. The store’s inventory consists of found items, junk, books, clothing, old electronics, fabrics, parts, etc. Coolest part about it is that there are no regular hours and it’s never locked. Come and go as you please, it’s kind of like a 24-hour FREE Walmart but without the bright lights and bad customer service.
Read more about the operation in The New York Times and see what they’re up to via twitter. (via The Scout)
