I’m so glad we’re finally starting to hear more leaks of Vampire Weekend’s sophomore album Contra. And Contra has been no secret either, in fact it’s been ready since late summer. These guys keep working. They’ve already released the cover art as well as a quirky video for Cousins. Better yet, they’ve practically already played their entire new album for crowds. They’re giving the people what they want, maybe that’s why they are still on top.
In their latest ploy, the band really gave something for us to sink our teeth into by streaming their full album on their Myspace, a week before it’s scheduled release. While we’ve heard nearly half of it, pieced together over the months of previews and individual track leaks, this was the first opportunity to judge Contra as a whole.
