
So apparently the president of China , Hu Jintao, is reigniting a speech given in October, that the Western world is overshadowing the greatness of China’s amazing long living culture, thus feeling the need to fight back. This plus side to this is funding for artists and production of more culturally driven programs. The downside is China will be like an over controlling art teach, hovering over shoulders, and veering the outcome to be one that conforms to the nationalist views. Regardless, it could be really interesting to see the work (if we’re allowed to) that comes out of a country that has been the poster child for communist censorship.
