10/19/2010 - Family Architects

Family Architect is a fairly new firm that uses creative architecture to solve international problems of public space and energy consumption, while keeping a larger anthropological mindset to plan for future generations. It’s the functional forward thinking that allows them to propose buildings that double up as wind farms, intricate leaning public housing complexes that maximize surface area for solar energy, and a floating park that allows a heavy traffic circle to be the center of a community again. Directed by Dong-Ping Wong, who earned his Master’s Degree in Architecture in 2006 from Columbia University and his Bachelor’s Degree from UC Berkeley in 2001, it should be interesting to follow the growth of this fresh firm.
